ReFa - Model-based restructuring of factories

The aim of this project is to develop a model-based approach to the restructuring of factories. The focus here is on the development of a model to describe a factory structure and the mapping of interdependencies between existing structural elements. The combination of both aspects in one model is supplemented by a procedure for restructuring a factory.

The developed model-based approach to restructuring enables the targeted and efficient identification and implementation of adaptations to the factory structure depending on the drivers of change affecting the company. In addition, plant start-up disruptions following restructuring are also reduced and, in the medium to long term, an effective and efficient use of resources is expected for adjusting factory structures.
